This book explains the various priviledges of diversity and the importance of being open-minded to work and meet with people with opinions different from yours.

Loved this one. Very compelling argument for the power of diverse teams, and I liked the examples he provides from a spectrum of industries.

This is a really great book, and Matthew Syed is an incredible author. I first learned about Syed through his phenomenal book Black Box Thinking, and he does it once again with this book. Often times, you hear that the best team of people is to get the top people in the field together, and they’ll produce the best results. In this book, Syed makes a compelling argument that diversity in groups is the ideal way to come up with solutions and new ideas. Through research and real stories, Syed explains how diversity is plays a major role in thinking as well as other aspects of our lives. In later chapters, he also discusses how our lack of recognizing diversity among people can lead us to hitting road blocks when trying to find solutions, and he uses great examples such as diets and how kids learn. I think a lot of organizations and management can benefit from this book, but if nothing else, you’ll learn a ton on an individual level as well.
