A lot of "catch up" exposition when Kat's past caught up with her. It didn't quite feel natural for Lolz to spill all the beans like that even with the token attempt from the lackey to stop it. I guess you could take it as her spitefully lording over Kat what she'd done that led her to that alleyway... Though I don't know what Lolz really got out of that.

I think future sci-fi written pre-internet and pre-mobile phone era is so interesting.  There was a mention of microfilms and it made me wonder what piece of current, widely used tech would be obsolete in 50 years.

I picked up this book because I was watching someone play a game based on it and I thought the game was fascinating. The characters aren't the same in the two mediums and the stories told are pretty different - it's Regis III and its inhabitants that are at the core of both (which is fascinating in itself).

Murderbot does murder mystery! I loved it and would read the crap out of Murderbot solving murders and apprehending murderers.

Man, I've missed this world and Murderbot. Love seeing ART back on the scene.

I wonder what Three will end up doing, I quite like Three. Not as sarcastic as Murderbot - just seems quite gentle.

Felt like it started off a bit slow, but picked up around a third of the way through and just steam-rolled to the end.

Betty is the best.

Saw more magic in this book than the other instalments, which was pretty fun.

Really hope the dream Hannah had in the epilogue is more of a warning than anything else.  Damn.

Hardinge's world building and characters have always been exceptional.

Even when she writes hard-to-like characters (I loathed Jelt - he was such an awful friend and so toxic), there's always some layer to them that pulls at one's empathy.
