Great first-hand perspective on the Iranian revolution and the regime after. The child narrator is appropriate for this book and makes it so much more enjoyable to read. The illustrations are a perfect touch as they depict well what the narrator’s delivering.

Too personal at the moment. Makes me feel vulnerable and targeted - I enjoy that kind of literature but this was too difficult. Definitely will pick it up next time, just not now.

It was a bit boring and too triggering at the time. Maybe some time in the futur but definitely not now.

Way too complex. I got confused with all the names, words, animals, religions, systems etc etc that I spent more time reading the author’s Dictionary than reading the book itself.
