Wow, this one is an emotional ride 😭 Don’t mind me, just crying over fictional characters again, but don’t you love it when a story makes you 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 something?

The characters were just perfect - intense, passionate, funny, and deeply layered. Seeing the story unfold through the MMC’s perspective was refreshing (I want more of this!), and Maverick and Tucker? Absolutely swoon-worthy 😮‍💨

The perfect blend of found family warmth, small town charm, and gut-wrenching heartache. Highly recommend checking this one out!

You remember how obsessed I was with Fated in Blood (book 1) and sneaking in pages at work? Fated in Secrets was just as addicting and the title doesn’t lie - the secrets are shocking 🤯

And WOW - does L.A. McGinnis know how to write spice! 🥵 Blake and Riordan return with their sexy mouths and obsessive natures. Malachi is that forbidden/taboo addition that I’m craving more of…always scheming, that one 😏 If you love a steamy paranormal why choose romance with an exciting plot and badass characters, you need to get your hands on this series 🔥

This has quickly become one of my top favourite vampire romantasy series! I know you’ll love Evangeline and her morally grey protectors.

I think this might be one of the creepiest stories I’ve read. I can’t get the grotesque image of the Gnawing Man out of my head 🫣 The gore, horror, and mystery were on point. I’m not sure I fully understood the reasons behind everything that happened, but Starving Alice definitely delivered on the spooky vibes. Another darkly entertaining read by Jason A. Jones!

We’re introduced to some new characters in this one and they’re just as entertaining and heartwarming as the first set! That found family trope continues to be the strongest I’ve seen.

Fangs is packed with action right from the start and sets up book 3 perfectly. I have so many theories racing through my head - can’t wait to continue this series!

This is me convincing you to make Fated in Blood your next vampire romance read. Addicting spice, morally grey males, a badass FMC, and an exciting plot - literally all the things that make a 5-star story 🔥 I was hooked from the start - like sneaking in pages at work kind of addicted (sorry boss 😅)

Evie is a vampire slayer on a mission to rescue her sister from her vicious captor. Let’s just say that doesn’t go as planned and Evie ends up a blood sucker herself. Forced into the care of Riordan (King of the Nocturne Clan) and Blake, his second, things heat up fast during Evie’s transition and the plot twists just keep coming.

Raina was captured from her planet to be sold at auction. Niko is an alien pirate who discovers Raina during a raid and immediately falls head over heels as the mating bond snaps into place. Even though they’re fated mates, Raina refuses to acknowledge the bond with Niko and certainly doesn’t make things easy for him, giving us readers that perfect slow burn tension and some very welcomed banter.

Alien From Nowhere was a fun read with likeable characters, spicy scenes, and funny moments. Will definitely be continuing the series.

"Colton is like your summer sparrow back in Boston. He brought joy to my life and made me smile for a summer, but I woke up one day and he was gone. That was it. That's the end of our story." - Rylee

Summer Sparrow was an emotional rollercoaster for me and definitely a different vibe than September Doves. I love Rylee and Colton together and in book 2 of this duet, they come apart and there's so much angst surrounding whether they'll find their way back to each other. Ultimately though, Rylee and Colton get their happy ending. There's a good chunk of character growth for both - Rylee owning her worth and Colton realizing his mistakes.

Mac is introduced as a new (main?) character and I really enjoyed the relationship he developed with Rylee. He kinda drops off though and I was left with questions, but I'm hoping this was done on purpose with the intent that he gets a book of his own.

I LOVED this book! Rylee and Colton are my new favourite couple - it's one of those relationships where you can't help but smile and shout out your happiness when they finally get together.

When Rylee's estranged sister contacts her requesting help, Rylee drops everything, packs up and heads to a tiny town called Eden. Through her sister, Rylee is introduced to a group of individuals who are part of a club of sorts that steals from corrupt rich a-holes and gives back to the community. One of those members is Colton, who is ripped, tattooed, and a sold A with the dirty talk.

September Doves is not just a romance story, there is mystery surrounding a murder, secrets to be revealed, and heartbreak (a character I really liked dies). I highly recommend this book and the best part is, book 2 (the conclusion of the duet) is out now!

Wow, this book was all kinds of disturbing. Am I the only one who thinks this is exactly how it would play out in real life? 🥩 My initial thought was go vegan - I mean, I haven’t eaten meat in over 20 years - but I get it, there are many reasons that may not work and this is, after all, a work of fiction.

As disturbing as this book was, it was extremely addicting. I thought the story was going to go one way and was completely blindsided. I’m sure if I read it again I’d pick up on some clues I didn’t catch the first time round. I likely will not read this book again 🫣 but I’m happy we crossed paths and I got to experience it. I found the writing to be engaging, creative, unique - it was very interesting.

If you’re not easily grossed out (that detailed slaughterhouse tour was pretty intense) and you enjoy dystopian settings, you’ll love this one!

If you’re looking for a standalone gothic romance to add to your Fall reading, I highly recommend Song of the Dark Wood (dark Red Riding Hood vibes).

There was so much to love about this story! A magical/haunted forest 🌲, grumpy MMC who falls first and HARD 🫠, the steamy scenes were on point ❤️‍🔥, there was a musical twist 🎶 that I found quite unique, and the illustrations scattered throughout enhanced the reading experience. 

I went into this thinking it was a shifter romance, so I think it’s important to mention that Conor stays in human form throughout. My understanding is that he’s called the Wolf because way back when he appeared to others in that form (part of his power is being able to mimic the worst fear of the beholder). This is why I think the description of Red Riding Hood “vibes” vs “retelling” is more accurate.
