The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon

I loved this book, I really did. But the ending was unsatisfactory and left me wanting something different.
But overall, I liked the characters, loved the dragons, and Queendoms are amazing.
There is not much action in this book. It is very plot driven. So keep that in mind if you're going to pick this up because it is long. I don't feel like it ever dragged though.
Definitely recommend and I hope we see more out of this world eventually.

I'll say it, the show is far superior! I'm actually really surprised this got picked up by Netflix. In my opinion, it's just not good. I don't like the art style, and the only saving grace is the story, which honestly is not as good as the show. You can hang me at the stake now if you like! I probably won't read the other volumes.

This was so much more than I expected!
Honestly, who doesn't love a book involving dragons?? I had some expectations for this book since it sounded so good. This was so much better than I ever thought!
Asha is a love for real! I feel like she is such a good character and so lovable. Her character development through the book is really on point, and by the end you are rooting and cheering for her like you would for your child at their first baseball game!
Just a little bit of romance was perfect, and you really fall for who she falls for! So many amazing things happened at the end.
Onward to the sequel!!!

"Ketterdam is made of monsters. I just happen to have the longest teeth."
What a ride Crooked Kingdom was! I can't believe it's over!! Leigh Bardugo has woven such a rich and beautiful world with such addictive characters that I didn't want to finish this book. I wanted to stay here forever. Kaz is so snarky and Inej is just... Inej. Wylan and Jesper!! And Nina and Mathias... words will never be able to express how much these characters have come to mean to me. Such beauty in all of this...

It was cute, not as good as the first one, and not really a conclusive ending. I still liked it though!

My favorite story was "When Water Sang Fire." Otherwise this is lovely Leigh Bardugo. 💜💜💜

After reading for the second time, I am changing my rating from 4 stars to 4.5 stars. I didn't retain much from the first read because so much is thrown at you in this book. There are so many different type of witches, it's honestly hard to keep track of all of them. A second read through I believe is essential to fully appreciate this (at least for me.)
I stand my the friendship in this book is amazing, and I think everyone should read it with their best friend. Also, the minimal romance was exactly that, minimal. I really enjoyed that change of pace, and the amount in there was REFRESHING. I will finally read Windwitch.
First review:
I loved the friendship in this. I think that in itself was magical.

"A true heart is never a mistake."
4.5 stars! I absolutely loved this book! The story was adorable and made my heart so warm.
Mina and Pixit want to make the world a better place, and do not let anything stop them in order to achieve this! They grow friendships with others and themselves on their journey for Mina to become a lightning guardian.
If you want a light fluffy read that makes you want to change the world, this is your book! This would be a really good book to help you get out of a reading slump as well.
