While I loved getting more of Cas’ perspective, From Blood and Ash is by far my least favorite book in this series so far so revisiting it was just ok for me. I would have loved to have more story progression, and am torn between feeling that this book was filler and feeling that is helped show Cas’ character development. 

Well, that was depressing. 

Definitely was a slow start for me (it read a lot like a fanfiction, honestly) but it picked up towards the end. I wish there had been more story that tied in to the larger plot of Powerless, but it was a quick listen and I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would in the beginning.  

I feel like this is a book that I’ll appreciate more once the series is complete and I reread. For a first read through, however, I felt like I spent too much time trying to figure out who people were and what was going on, and not in a good way.
