2 stars. The first half was better than the second half. I would rate the first half 3 stars and the second half 2 stars. The story started to get a bit ridiculous and I also didn’t like the “before” chapters of this book. I felt like the end of this book came out of nowhere and didn’t make any sense. This had potential.
If you’re picking this book up as a comparison to the movie, don’t. They’re completely different. This book is a collection of short stories about robots not containing the story from the movie (from what I can remember. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie)
If you go into this book without the expectation of a story similar to the movie, then you’ll be better off. This was enjoyable and interesting but very different from what I was expecting. I’m normally not a huge fan of short stories, but I didn’t mind this.
I should’ve DNF’d this. It was so difficult for me to get into this and even when I did, I was only half committed. The story didn’t feel original to me and it was very predictable. I was able to guess the outcome at about 40-50%.
