Unsure...

I'm not very sure if what I just read. Quite honestly, I am a bit confused and unsure of how else to feel about this book.

It was okay. There was a lot of build up and tension between the main character and her ex, only to get to the end and have no climax whatsoever. Still, I enjoyed the book.

It was okay.

It was okay. It was slow to start and didn't pull me in. Not sure if I will continue the series.

Best one yet

This was a good addition to the series. It flowed well and the pacing was perfect. I hope there is another book to the series. If not, this ended perfectly.

I enjoyed this one!

This was a wild, quick ride. I enjoyed the intensity as well as the rest herrings thrown throughout the book. I loved how hard and bravely the women fought. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Not too bad.

It wasn't bad. It dragged in a few places, but overall enjoyable. I kind of figured out who the killer was before it was revealed.

Say what you mean and mean what you say!

Kena said she would be gone if Raph didn't get his ish together, and that is exactly what she meant. She gave her husband a year to choose her or the streets. Raph thought it was a joke. Kena showed him better than she could tell him.

Angelia managed to bring us a colorful story about two young people navigating life. Kena loved Raph with everything in her, but she loved herself more. She refused to put herself in a situation where she would either lose her husband, and potential father to her children, to prison or the streets. I wish more young women would have this kind of good sense and mean it when they tell me to choose them or the streets.

Raph was a good man, but Kena needed more than that. The supporting cast was quite a hoot as well. My fave side characters were Jake and Sandra. All I'll say is, I hope they get it together.

I give this book five-pages, think five-stars. It's filled with black love and life lessons.

It took a moment for me to get into this one, but when the ish hit the hand I fanned with, it was on! I loved the world building. I know because this is book 1 the author had to take her time setting up everything, and it was worth it! This book kept me on my toes. Jinn and his crew didn't know who to call foe or friend. I loved the way the author took her time introducing each character and giving their backstories. And while I said it took a moment to get into the book, once I did get into it, I understood why the author took her time. That ending was so explosive and unexpected. I can't wait to get into book 2!

I give this book five-pages (think five-stars). Nikki-Michelle recommends this book.
