I did the audiobook of this and I really enjoyed the reader's voice. I really liked how outspoken she is when it comes to leadership.
I thought it was interesting that she was falling for the god of war, but trying to not fall for him. It was a little too quick in my opinion though.
I'm not a fan of the misunderstanding trope and this one has forced misunderstandings. So that annoyed me a bit. So much annoying back and forth with feelings too. This made me want to bang my head against a wall.
The politics of the god realm is very strange. Why do they have the right to rule over a mortal kingdom and essentially hold it hostage?
Plot twist what?! I was not expecting the person who poisoned her to be who they were. And I was half expecting her previous "life" to be a different one.
I didn't like that the villain had mommy issues.
It was interesting that the end was tidied up quickly. Not sure I liked the pacing of that.
This felt quite slow at times. It felt a little disjointed at times.

Misery misery misery. This poor woman's life is her name isn't it? Collateral twice, no friends, no one seems to care for her at all. The one thing she has is Serena whom she lost.
This being a romance, fantasy, and mystery is so much fun!
I feel so bad for Misery for all the stuff she's been through. And she finally seems to have found her place among a group that should have been enemies. It's a new feeling of found family. I enjoyed the way the world building was with a unique twist to vampyre and werewolf lore.
I loved this book. I was not expecting a few of the twists, but expected others. It was easy to become attached to the main characters, which I love. I was screaming a few times when people were being stupid too.

I didn't want to ever put this book down, but sleep is necessary and unfortunately, so is work. 🤣 I loved the world building and I felt like it wasn't a huge info dump at the beginning. I think it set us up to learn more and hope for a better understanding.
I found a lot of quotes in here that just felt absolutely right. So many things pointing out the choices we make as a society and what we feel we can do.
Boy oh boy, to be transported from one land to another will always be jarring for someone. I liked that we learned as Olivia learned. I respected her fear and also hope to grow. I felt like there were a lot of plot points thrown in that gave us questions that still need to be answered. But I'm okay with that, as I feel like those answers will keep coming.
Nou had me cracking up almost the whole book. And Brekt well, he's a whole lot of shadow daddy beefcake. I loved that! The brooding, but caretaker. Kaz was an interesting character, I really want to know more about her.
Some of the plot twists, I was so lost. I didn't see it coming at all, but the final twist, I saw it going one of two ways and I'm glad I did. Honestly, I think it would have been so hard to swallow that twist if I hadn't thought, well maybe.

May Nature guide you. This phrase is so embedded into the lore of this world and I love it. It not just encompassing the world itself, but the fates, and magic. At least that's how I took this phrase when I was reading. The lore here is so fascinating and I truly enjoyed trying to properly puzzle out the prophecy. Everything was so connected in one way or another. I enjoyed the plot and the world building and the characters.
I fell for some of the characters and their quirks. Hated the ones you're supposed to hate. I really love when a book engrosses me so much that I truly feel that way about a character.
My heart cries for Lana and all of the things she's gone through. I can relate a lot to her anxiety and the self doubt she feels and I think it brings my involvement in the plot and hopes for characters to a whole other level.
Trying to decipher Vivvienne's words where she seems crazy was very interesting. I don't think I understood most of it, but it added a little fun.
That ending made me so sad. I can't wait for the second book so I can be returned to happiness in this world. I want her to understand so badly!!

I got this book because I thoroughly enjoyed Eternal Love and wanted to read the thing that inspired the show. I adored the show so much and this book was great groundwork for the show. I loved the world building and Dumpling was absolutely adorable.
It was a bit easy to get confused with the timeline of events. And the constant talk of people being "homosexuals" kind of pulled me from the plot. I felt we could've lived without some of the extra love triangles. I also didn't like how consent was handled. She was forced into situations she didn't want and for the sake of politeness or fear, she just went along with things.

I loved this book! The tension between the characters was fantastic! I loved the lore too. The world building has been incredible and I can't wait to read the next book! I really enjoyed all of the characters in this book and I hope we get to explore more.
I can't wait for more fantasy battles and maybe some more fixed god swords!

I've been dying for this book to come out since I read the first one! It's been so nice to see these two characters grow. I absolutely love that Daphne is an artist and is getting comfortable in her other form. I also adore the fact that Monty is doing such a good job at his new position. The boxing is fun too since we knew he was obsessed. It's so fun learning about their pasts now that they aren't secondary characters.
Ooh man those spicy scenes! 😳 The mirror scene had me dead. The rest of them were so good!
I'm also super excited for the next book! I was cackling at the end of the second epilogue.

I really loved the first book of this series so it was truly a no brainer to start the second book. I'll be honest, I liked the first book better, but maybe that's just because of the kinks in this one? One wasn't quite for me. But I really enjoyed getting to read about the relationship between Zain and Luna. It was a fun read! I enjoyed their relationship and how they came together to do what they needed. The spicy scenes were great as well. Even though I wasn't a fan of the one kink, that didn't stop me from enjoying the spiciness.
