I wasn’t drawn to the characters and they didn’t feel convincing or captivating to me. Some parts of the writing and dialogue felt a little cliche as well. I really loved My Sister’s Keeper which is why I picked up this book but I just don’t think it’s for me. I love the idea and the thought brought into this book though.

There were a lot of thought provoking parts of this book and topics I really enjoyed reading; however, it missed the mark based on the title of the book. I don’t feel that this book was very focused on wellness culture but instead focused on the author’s personal path to healing. The book was informative and emotional to read, but I don’t believe it delivered on the premise of the title which is the examination of wellness culture.

Ambitious story line but there were a lot of things that I found gratuitous and unnecessary. When the story started ramping up, I was intrigued, but I ultimately felt a little let down by the last couple hundred pages. It was definitely an adventure of a book though.
