Thorn and Ophelia have swiftly become my favourite couple. I applaud Dabos for writing the slowest slow burn romance I've ever read. They have single-handedly agitate me and made me squeal with the littlest glance that warmed my heart at 3 AM. The true grumpy x sunshine, enemies to lovers, slow burn romance.

This ship aside. As much as I live reading about another ark and family spirit. I enjoyed the characters from the Pole more. I find the new characters in this books very 2 dimensional compared to the 1st & 2nd book. They're very much just there most of the time except for maybe 2 new characters that stood out for me. The new POV chapter was a much needed breath-of-fresh air that brought excitement and insight to this book. Wishing for it to continue in the 4th book.

Lastly, WHAT'S WITH THAT CLIFFHANGER. I'm glad I don't have to wait for the next book.

Very slow but I'm intrigued by the characters and excited to see where the story goes.

DNF at 51%. Just not my type of rom-com. I need mutual pining, falling in love, longing looks, subtle touches. This has all of that, but in lust. Felt like reading a transcript of a christmas porn episode. And that mention of TikTok? Huge NO.

Love how captivating this is. But, I'm not thrilled with the instant love. Personal preference but it does make me dislike their parts together. Aside from that, great characters, engaging plot and perfect ending I'd say.

I don't find this one as compelling as The Cruel Prince. Although I like the characters and the writing, I did find myself getting bored of the story. The plot took a twist at the end and added the excitement and anticipation of what'll come next in the sequel.

I really admire how beautifully Fonda Lee wrote this trilogy. The story spans almost 3 decades long, it flows so seamlessly and I find this way more satisfying and deep than the usual 1-2 years long conflict. Kaul Hilo is one of the best written character in my opinion, his character development was beautifully written. I started disliking him and now he's one of my favourites. Along with Kaul Shae, who's strenght is not brute and violence but a quiet strenght on its own.
