The chapters about rescue dogs and philanthropy were interesting but I just got a sense from the author that he thought he was better than everyone, especially when talking about adopting dogs versus so-called “designer” dogs.

The narrator is making this book seem really dryly academic and boring; maybe it’s because they are talking about two of the most boring sports in the history of humanity: golf and chess. I’m going to try this in physical format and if I still don’t like it, I’ll call it a day.

This topic doesn’t particularly interest me (camping, outdoor living, etc) but I am a fan of this author so I’m going to look for something else he has written (probably the book he wrote with his wife Megan Mullaly).
