This was such a fun trip, and the plot twists were good. However, I feel like there were kind of a lot of things happening in the beginning that didn’t actually turn out to be relevant. The beginning wasn’t super exciting, but I think this was worth it if you like a weird book that fucks with your head a little bit.

Not especially unique, but not a bad book. I really liked the epigraphs for each chapter, it was a cool way to get in extra world building. Mostly a standard YA dystopian, but there were some passages near the end that were pretty striking. Kind of weird that she falls in love with essentially the first boy she ever meets.

I don’t think I can give this a rating on a numerical scale, but it is really important and valuable.

Nice book, but didn’t particularly stick out to me. The message on the importance of protecting the environment and Indigenous people is valuable, but skews a little white savior-y, and the depiction of the Native people seems very stereotypical.

This is my first introduction to this story, which I think is pretty fun (albeit problematic), but I don’t think this was a good adaptation. It cut so many scenes and it was hard to tell who the characters were. Gay as hell though.

I know it’s ironic, but this book truly was just fine. All the guy does is complain and be horny.

I’m feeling kinda conflicted on this book overall, this rating may be subject to change. So like it was very different from Iron Widow, and I liked that one more, but this one wasn’t bad. As I was reading it, I was really interested and felt like it was really good, but in hindsight it feels a bit disjointed. A majority of this book was very much politics-focused and into the details of the kingdom and the revolution, which I personally found interesting, but I see why others wouldn’t like it. The last third was where it went downhill for me. Half of it was just sex (which was way more graphic then the previous book and made me question why a YA book would have that) and the other half was just lore drops and rushed action. Also, a large enjoyable part of the first book was the throuple shenanigans, which unfortunately did not carry over into this book. I would personally recommend this to people interested in politics within science fiction, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to every fan of Iron Widow.

Nothing groundbreaking, but very cute (and relatable for the academic validation girlies). A very solid rivals to lovers book that I would recommend to romance fans.

Great conclusion to an excellent series. The ending was a bit rushed/didn’t entirely make sense, but I really love the characters and world building.
