Boy, howdy. If you like the words, scintillate, heterodyne, mote or, ebon this book is for you. It's chock a block full of them - just like all of Tubb's Space:1999 novels. The dude really liked those words and used any opportunity he could to employ them in his storytelling. Sometimes they even appear in the same paragraph. Truly, an underwhelming achievement of mediocre writing.
It's... OK. If you've read others in the series you know what you're in for. It's not very imaginative, interesting or even well written. It's not horrible but it's fluff designed to be consumed. It's from a time before home video recorders allowed people to re-watch their favorites ad infinitum. So, if one wanted to spend time with a movie or TV show, they needed to read a book. And that's the purpose this work serves. It's not art but it was never meant to be. In today's words, it's content. It's readable. It wasn't so painful I couldn't finish it. It was entertaining in its own way. So I can't fault it too much.
