2.5 star read
Although this book was relatively short in my opinion, it did take me a longer time to read due to my frustration with both the writing style and the character development. The twin sister dynamic was extremely problematic for me and ultimately was the final nail in the coffin. I was originally going to rate this 3.5 stars because although I personally was not a fan of the author's writing style and her choice to include the modern "human" world in the story, I could understand the plot importance of it. But the budding relationships that both Jude and Taryn have by the end of the book which are arguably two of the most toxic literary 'romantic' relationships I have ever read. Or perhaps simply, the most unlikable couples to read about.

Rating: 3.5 stars
Not the best comic book I've read; it was a book I picked up from the library out of impulse- I had felt a yearning to revisit some good childhood memories and as a kid growing up watching the Batman: Animated series I wanted to experience another version of that as an adult. It was a quick read and I enjoyed the artwork and thought the coloring was beautiful. As expected the plots were not the greatest; a bit awkwardly paced and shallow in certain parts but that does not mean it was a bad read. It simply was what it was. I do want to point out the fact that it was surprisingly heavy in innuendo and had a tad more instances of "male gaze" pin-up panels of the female characters. I get it; it was the 90s but still some of was really in poor taste. Also surprised the writers were able to get away with some of cursing in the comic book but hey freedom of speech.

Read as a kid; sweet story that has good lessons within it. Would recommend to little ones.

Read it on a whim; just not a fan. The book had an extremely problematic relationship and not much character development or depth. Lots of melodramatic moments involving rich people fighting about money and teenagers being petty and sexist. The antagonists were so over the top that it essentially a caricature of what someone writing a CW show would make a villain. Just it was a mess; both in plot and in narration.
