Meh. More like The Host than The Hunger Games.

This novel tells the tale of a scandal involving an affair between a teacher and his high school student lover that rocks a small town in Western Michigan. It is written in the perspective of three unique women: the aforementioned student, her mother, and the pregnant wife of the teacher.

The writing is solid. I was sucked in to the story by the end of the first chapter, and my interest did not wane at all as I progressed. I power-read this novel.

Fans of Jodi Piccoult will likely love this; the authors have similar styles.

In a nutshell: A not very good vampire horror novel.

I really had to push myself to get through this book; ended up skimming over the last 50 or so pages.

Flat, boring characters, and a story that even an elephant couldn't save.
