this one was pretty good and I must say I'm sort of startng to like Richard now that he's starting to get the stick out of his butt. But I am still partial to Jean Claudr and was very upset he wasn't in this book much. I also am Liking Asher a lot.

out of all the Anita Blake books I've read to date, this one has got to be the most grotesque. It just didn't fit in with the whole Anita Blake world. It was nice to see Edward more, though him having a family was weird still weirds me out but whatever. This was my least favorite books out of the series so far. I can't wait until we are back in the normal Anita world. also going to be really interesting or really annoying on this love triangle and her trying to figure out whom she really loves and what not and the whole part that she only "might" love Jean Claude is a bunch of BULL because if she didn't love him as much as she loves Richard she wouldn't have stayed faithful to Jean Claude as long as she did, and if she wasn't put under that spell or what have ya by what's her face, would she have ever slept with Richard in the first place? But the main thing is she wouldn't be so conflicted if she didn't love him as much and she loves richard.

this was an intense book, so much going on. Anita poor Anita it's hard to be a badass when your badassness is running on low. Richard at first I was like oh awesome he's becoming cool, calm and collected and getting with the program ummmmm WRONG!!!! This man was more up & down and more emotional than a woman on PMS.

Jean Claude was as usual as calm and cool and sexy as always except when he attacked Micah now that was a trip.... OK so what is it with he shifter boys, they all seem to be really hung....do you think it's because it's a shifter thing???? I think so poor JC not getting commended for his man size... (I'd still do him regardless, over 500 years of sex, you know that boy knows how to make a girl cream and scream better than any shifter out there :) ).

Nathaniel I have to agree with Anita I've always seen him as a helpless child. So her getting sexual (though she's not actually having sex with him) still is weird.

Micah now he was and still is an interesting character...he's a dominant but he's definitely not as dominant as Anita, though there are few who are more dominant than her.

But now that her and Richard are officially threw, wonder how things are going to go now.

I really enjoy the Anita Blake series and I enjoyed this book as well. But it seemed too wordy at times I think, like where you'd sit there and go get on with it already. Anita is a little take but hardly any give in her relationships and that is getting kinda annoying. And her hang up with Richard is getting extremely annoying. It's like that saying hurt me once shame on you hurt me twice shame on me, but there won't be a thrice time. She should just cut her losses and try to salvage maybe a friendship but nothing more.

Richard, OMG what the hell is his deal, he is the most wa-wa'd person in the world....I think this whole morals taking over nature bit is getting tiresome. Richard needs to get over himself, he's not human anymore so quit having human values & morals and views because no matter what he does it's going to back fire on him tenfold.

I think it's awesome about the threesome thing she's got going on between her, Jean Claude, and Asher. it's about time I say on that Asher is just way too sexy.

Micah, I think he's too easy, he does everything Anita says and doesn't bitch about anything.

Anita truly should stay clear of Nate I think if she steps to far over that line, she's going to end up breaking his heart and I just love it that he is finally growing some balls, he really should grow some more and maybe further advance his character.

Real cute between Cherry and zane can we say AWWWWWWW?

Now Dolph that man is becoming psycho I mean yeah I get it his son is turning vamp and in love with a vamp and what not, but that doesn't mean he should take it out on everyone else out there in the paranormal world for what his son choses. I think he is being a jerk plain and simple. Dragging Anita around by the arm so she lands in the victims blood and god knows what else.

any rate I have my complaints but it was still a good book overall

well this was ok book, I liked it that the sex didn't take over the book, and we actually had a decent old Anita moment.

and after this book I like Micah better, but at the end with Nathaniel, it's starting to make me not like him as much.

I want more Jean Claude and dare I say it Richard moment.

I love Anita and I even love her men at times, but i'm like ok this is not Merry Gentry and her men this is Anita Blake badass Vampire Hunter.

Oh well move and and take the books for what they are, and maybe find salvation in them somewhere.

I'm not really sure on how I feel about this book. I still can't stand Richard I think for the most part should be taken out of the picture, he's unbearable to read about. Anita, I think she is finally starting to get over her "I can't have casual sex, it's a sin blah blah blah" bit, but I doubt it, but it's really the only thing I find annoying about these later books in the series. I also am not too fond of the growing love she has for Nathaniel and Micah that's kind of (boring) anymore *Yawns*. I still Jean Claude, cause he does love Anita, and he's very tolerant of her having to have so many partners, does he like it OF COURSE NOT! but he's more willing to accept it than Richard is. It's like ok dorkface, she's a blood succubus, she needs sex to feed and live.... no she can't just have one guy, that's not how it works with incubus's and succubus's, they need multiple partners to survive. Richard one of his biggest problems is that HE DOESN'T FRICKIN LISTEN. Asher and the rest of these guys, it's beginning to become a depression fest with them, almost every guy in this book except for Jean Claude, Nathaniel, and Micah has been depressed one way or another. Really that doesn't motivate me to want to keep reading. I do enjoy the fact that others are gaining powers. But I believe that there should be more action back into the books as well as the sex. I think the characters are getting a little stale because all it is now days is long dialogue's about "feelings" and sex and who she's going to have sex with. I will continue on with the series because I do have a lot of complaints over it I do still enjoy most of what's going on. And I'm hoping Anita will change into an animal if not all of them hehe.

This was probably the best Anita book I've since the...well since the ardeur (sp) started and Anita became a whore. Sorry to say that because I love Anita, but she did turn into quite the whore... it was getting to the point where I thought Ms. Hamilton had crossed wires, between the Anita Blake series and the Meredith Gentry series. Because in Anita's first 8 or 9 book maybe less she was this complete barney bad-ass that kicked anyone's ass the f****ed with her. Then she started turning into this whiny wimpering, sex fiend. Then in the Meredith books, she's supposed to sleep around with as many guys as possible, and that was the whole basis of the books, to stay alive, and screw as many fairies as possible to concieve a child to gain the throne. But somehow they both totally flip-flopped, Anita went into whore mode, and Merry turned into the barney bad ass. Now don't get me wrong I love both series, and I a still hoping the the Meredith Gentry series will continue for a little longer. It just seems odd how the main female character flip flops into what another lead female character in another story is supposed to be.

Anywho, this book I enjoy immensely. One the lack of sex was great, it was a nice change of pace from how the series is going. Two you get to see Edward again, I just love him. Three Anita is having doubts about Nathaniel, well in my opinion... ABOUT DAMNED TIME. I like Nathaniel, but I don't see him as Anita's type, he's too submissive for my taste. Four the best best BEST part of the book, is when Anita went off on Richard, that she had finally had enough of his bullsh*t. Jean-Claude too it was so great, I was whooping for them both while reading that. Richard is a self rightous bastard, who doesn't know his a$$ from his head. I totally loved it though, never liked the guy... there was a book or two where I had thought that maybe he was deemable then he went and screwed things up again. Wish him the best but BUBYE BUCKAROO!

I liked this book, I like it when Anita gets of of St. Louis. I liked it that Jason was one of the main characters of this book. I also liked it that while there was still lots of sex in this book, there didn't seem to be as much as the few previous books from when the ardouer(sp) started. I'm wondering what's going on with Richard and the ardouer(sp), is that going to remove some of it from Anita? I'm quite intrigue with all the metaphysical stuff, and i'm quite intrigued on if Anita will ever fully shapeshift, would be interesting to see. I'm still hating Richard, and after the small part he had in this book, it doesn't change my mind about him one bit. I wish Anita would lose some of the men she's boinking, I think that part of the story has gotten way extreme, but that's just my opinion on that... I don't mind a few of the guys, Jean Claude being the main one, and Jason being the next in line the rest, they're just ehhh for me...and I know everyone loves Nathan, I do too, just for some reason not with Anita *Shrugs* no clue why just do. I've never really been big on Micah either... so let me tell you having a book where they were not really a part of just tickled my fancy and made the book more worthwhile to read.

Well I'm going to say that I always love the books, where Anite and Edward are together, I enjoy them so much. Plus you get more action instead of sex which is always nice too. I love it that there is no Richard can't stand him, no Micah for some reason I just don't like him, nor do I like Nathaniel either I just don't know why they've never been fave characters. Though I must say I love the names LKH comes up with in her books Truth, Wicked, Requiem, I like those guys, I really like them because they are tall and manly, where as most of the guys Anita likes are girly men look wise. Which is ok for some, but me I just prefer tall and rugged. But yes I enjoyed this book, and wish the rest of them would be like how this one is. Though I did miss Jean-Claude, but I LOVED IT! When he got all jealous, and pissy over all the men she has, and I love it that he's starting to stand up to her, hope to see more of that.
