Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight
5.0
It took me a while to get into the book, but once I did, I genuinely cared for the characters. I was sick--very sick--over the anguish Amelia faced as she was bullied from all sides. I was beyond sad with Kate as she tried desperately to understand her daughter's last days. So well written. I'd read Kimberly's books again and again.
A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet: Southern Stories of Faith, Family, and Fifteen Pounds of Bacon by Sophie Hudson
5.0
Gosh, I do love me some Sophie Hudson. Her voice is so clear in her stories. I really felt like I knew her family--every single one of them--when I finished reading and I wanted to put them all on my Christmas card list. In fact, I think we might even be related.
Losing It by Cora Carmack

Such a fun, light, easy read. It'll take you right back to college & the first time.
My (not so) Storybook Life: A Tale of Friendship and Faith by Elizabeth Owen

What a great concept for a memoir. I do love a good memoir!
A Homemade Year: The Blessings of Cooking, Crafting, and Coming Together by Jerusalem Jackson Greer

I love this book. Almost every single page is dog-earred or highlighted or underlined. I am making plans to make an advent wreath out of Mason jars ... not exactly an idea from the book, but I feel like it will fit my family and help us to celebrate the season better and that's what I've gotten from the book. Celebrate the best way your family knows. LOVE it. I plan on reading and reading and reading it again and again!
Orange Is the New Black by Piper Kerman

I love Piper. I think I might want to be her friend. And, in a weird little way, I wanted the experience of being in prison while reading OITNB. It quickly subsided that quirky desire, but I loved this book.
