i will admit i’m predisposed towards loving ve schwab’s writing, and a darker shade of magic is no exception. with incredibly fast paced action and morally complex characters, this is a tense page turner that kept me screaming into my arm at every plot development. absolutely loved it, and i’m looking forward to jumping into the rest of the series!!!

holy shiiiiiiiit this book. one of the most heartfelt and emotional books i’ve read in a long time despite being marketed purely as a comedy. what a beautiful story of friendship.

this sucked major ass. incredibly confusing at best, and characterization and plot inconsistencies that have you doubling back to reread at worst. please if you are considering reading venom comics do not start with this one. pick literally anything else.
