I love this book series so much and I’m so happy we got to see what happened during those “4 months” they were gone. This book changes my perspective of the second book so much!!

This book is so obviously written by a white woman who at her truest form is a colonizer who appropriates from spiritual beliefs and cultural practices and shoves her white influence in them.
A friend recommended this book so highly and I was so excited but she wrote a section about “POW WOWS?!” like cOME ON!!! We gotta do better as white people to realize when we are overstepping.
Besides that as I was reading and eventually skimming and skipping forward to sections I thought maybe would be better, a lot of this information is also just wrong. Like not factual at all. In fact a lie. It’s sad that this is marketed to teens/young adults, but the education being presented isn’t only based in white supremacy (wicca) but also just wrong. Sorry.

I personally loved this book. It was one of my favorite horror film when I was a kid and I never knew it was a book until I stumbled upon it in a Savers!! So I was so excited to read.
I felt like it was slow in the beginning, especially coming from watching it as a quicker film, but it was so interesting really learning about the characters traits in more detail and hear them explain these horrific experiences their going through. The characters are… interesting, but I thought were written well for their rolls. Like the way the all handle this situation is super interesting and sometimes sad.
Overall I think it’s a great read.
