Had to return it to the library and I was making slow progress. Will pick it up again I’m sure

South is a strange tale, and a purposefully obscured, unsettling, and convoluted one at that. Never have I read a book where the narrator and I equally have no idea what will occur next. The ending left me wanting a bit at first, but I’ll be ruminating on it and the whole story for a long time.

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

A tense, killer book. Last 100 pages fly by in a good way. Very creepy, uncomfortable subject matter covered in this novel, so be warned.

A sort of epic poem that unearths odd emotions, the sort you cannot name or refuse to. As surreal and unexpected as some of the poems are there is a tinge of the deeply personal.

Stunning debut collection of poetry from a Pacific Northwest poet with a keen eye and a keener mind.
