Yes I finished the book but I did not like it.
I expected a dark romance but it didn’t feel like it was a dark romance. Yes some questionable thing happened but it felt pretty tame. Also I just didn’t like the writing.
Why did I finish it because i didn’t want to read my other current reads and the moment i wanted to dnf it I was halfway through and I was just like let me finish this.
Not for me maybe for someone else.

This book was beautifully written. It tells a comping of age story even when all the odds are stacked against you. I loved the African influences throughout the book. I love it when fantasy books are not only based on western culture. This way you can learn about other cultures in a different way. The book also reminded me of the raybearer series.
I must say though that sometimes I completely lost the plot which may have been a me problem but still it was kind of annoying sometimes that is why the rating is not higher.

Well I was so ready to not finish this series and I was like okay let me read the novella to get back into the world and it did save the series.
This is a cute backstory of Vale and his wife. I’m curious about the significance of this in the next book.
The writing and story is very clear and I am now ready for the next book and not scared anymore to continue with he series

Well I didn't love this book as much as I liked the first book in the Glimmer Falls. It was still good and I enjoyed it still but I found the beginning a bit slow and the ending too quick.
The laughs and plottwist were still there and there where times I laughed out loud while reading the book.
I guess I also just didn't like the couple dynamic but I that happens in every series.
