“I was the field and she was the morning glory. I had been overtaken.“
I was not expecting this book to be as emotional as it was! Calder was so innocent and so pure! The love he had for his sister was the sweetest and that broke my heart. Eden was also so pure and innocent but also so strong! I loved how she wanted to learn everything and how much Calder was willing to teach her. Both were so strong and loved them! Xander was a great side character as well! My heart broke throughout the book but especially that ending! I can’t wait to start book 2.

What a dark but yet beautiful ride!! Mia Sheridan wove such a story that had me on the edge of my seat! I was completely consumed by this book. I’m so happy that Noelle & Evan got their hea and things that needed justice actually got what they deserved!!

Didn’t like the direction the book was headed and cheating is a no go trope so that’s also why

“I thought you didn’t like sweet.”
He smirks. “I don’t. But the idea of turning my sweet little assistant filthy is driving me insane.”
I don’t normally love the sheltered virgin trope but I enjoyed this one. Abby is pretty sheltered and I did enjoy her slowly coming into her own and I’m sure each book she’ll grow more and more. I liked how she was trying new things, and making new friends. I hope she stands up to her mom in the later books because she needs too!! For Henry I wish we got his pov so I could understand him more, he’s a bossy hotel owner that strives for perfection and everyone is kinda scared of him but for abby he has a sweet side which I love when that comes out. The sexual chemistry these two have is hot and I did enjoy that!
I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us.

The Enigma by Jodi Ellen Malpas

I’m not sure what happened between book 1 and book 2 but book 2 was trash. The heroine was supposed to be this badass ex cop on the hunt for her mom’s murder and she was the opposite, completely dumb and didn’t question anything. Going from
Rose (the Brit) to this heroine it was like night and day. Beau didn’t have a cop bone in her body and just let people walk all over her. One of the worst heroines. As for the hero he carried the book alot of the time as did the mystery/suspsene part. There was alot of kinky sex and I didn’t feel any connection other than sex between these two.
Also the story dragged on way too long that I skipped a lot of chapters,I was surprised by a few twists at the end. I do plan to read book 3 and I hope it’s better

“You remind me of someone I used to know,”
Jodi Ellen Malpas 👏🏼👏🏼
Danny Black & Rose Cassidy.
Their story was EVERYTHING! I absolutely loved this book. The chemistry between these two something else! The way they both healed each other and fought for and at each other was *chefs kiss*
One of my favorite reads of this year!

Waking Olivia by Elizabeth O'Roark
2.5
What started out as a good book that really captured my attention grew to be something that I really didn’t care for anymore.
First off Olivia was the type of heroine that I love. She gave zero f*cks and told it like it was,her backstory was heartbreaking and the whole running while asleep was a very interesting part of her. For Will he was a bit of an asshole when he met Olivia and I honestly loved their banter,he gave it right back to Olivia when she would be nasty toward him but he was also patient and really tried to be there for her which I loved.
To the stuff I didn’t like. This was a slowburn and I mean slowww,80 chapters (yes there was sexual tension) but not till the 75/80 percent did we get any action. Also there was a lot of stuff that could’ve been left out and it dragged on and on. I’m surprised this author didn’t turn this into a duet 😂
There was also this build up to Olivia’s past with her dad and the whole suspense part and this where is knocked it from 3 stars to a 2 star rating. Olivia’s dad is a psycho and goes and attacks her so Will hears this and comes in punching him and knocks this guy who has murdered 3 people (2humans and 1 dog) it’s was super anticlimactic like this guy is a killer and 1 punch just knocks him out with so much time that you kiss and cry with Olivia and then have time to call the police (dad is still knocked out,the author made it seem like this guy was the devil ) the build up with this suspense was so huge all for it to be over within a second and then they just go on their happy way? It was wrapped up too fast for me especially after 75chapters for the nightmares, police questioning, running asleep.
Overall this book wasn’t for even tho it started out so promising and sounded so good. Not sure if I’ll read the next book or this authors other books.

“Without her, I’d still be the hateful person I once was. Now I’d finally closed the book on my past, and I opened a new chapter in my life.”
Such a good end to this series!!! I love London & Crewe so much!
