I am unsure how I want to rate this. This spice and chemistry gets 5 stars

The amount of times Scarlett has negative self talk and personality was a 2 star situation.

So I am giving this one 4 because I enjoyed it overall.

Ehhhhhh. Miscommunication is such a dumb trope and the fact that the MCs are two very smart adults I just cannot see this ever happening?? Lol

Also the "I'm so small and his dick is soooooooo big"  bit it's just goofy and hilarious

While I appreciate the sentiment this book is trying to convey, I'm just not into it. It kind of feels a little bit like Mom fiction and don't think that this book is going to be for me. So instead of rating it poorly I'm just going to stop here.

Payal is absolutely someone I would have loved to be friends with when I was in high school. I thought her experience was very valid and probably an often occurrence around America. I thought she handled it with a little bit a grace and it was a delight to read!

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!

F.T. Lukens is a new favorite author for me. This book has a little bit of everything I love. Queer normativity, magic, found family and witty banter. I want to LIVE inside this book.

Ellery was darling. I loved their determination and loyalty to those they loved.

Charlie was an aggressive ray of sunshine that made me smile every time she had something to say.

Knox was obviously dreamy and adorable. His fondness of human activity was just too cute.

And Zada was the logical one of the group with the supportive love that everyone needed.

I loved this book and cannot wait to reread.

The FMC is so annoying and she's upset that she's successful.....? And then the mmc is an absolute ass. I don't care to see if they have a redemption arc because I'm outta here sorryyyy byeeee

Give Me Butterflies by Jillian Meadows

5.0

It's almost not fair how well Jillian Meadows writes romance. It makes me resent my own life just a little bit.

I knew going into the book that it would be 5 stars. I just knew it. And booooooooy I was NOT disappointed. This book is so goddamn sweet and romantic while also ramping up the spice in the most delicious way. I loved having a little cameo from my girl Lena from "WRECK MY PLANS" which is Jillian's christmas novel.

Anyways- the beginning was worrisome for a moment when Finn, our mmc, was trying to be grumpy. However, how beautiful charismatic sunshine, Millie, made short work of that. She is absolutely delightful and made me smile the entire time. I loved how she interacts with her amazing family, with Finn's nieces, and with Finn.

I respected that she didn't want to get the reputation for 'sleeping to the top' as a woman in STEM, I thought that was a very valid concern for her that some might have disregarded.

NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT FINN. Space daddy, Catan champion, and purchaser of the hunter green kitchenaid stand mixer. This man is so swoony. I loved every moment he was on page. He is so flirty, so sexy, and above all, he is just a really solid dude. I thought he was a great uncle to the two little girls (who were also absolutely delightful) and I loved how much he valued them and his promise he made to his sister.

OVERALL- Jillian Meadows is an auto-buy author for me. Full stop. No notes. Loved every second of this book.
