this was so, so intense. books about unhinged, unlikable women are my favorite but this was not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach. i have no interest in being near a man for some time after finishing this book. our main character is depraved, but with good reason. 

Dolly Alderton is like a cool, messy, British Eve Babitz. Reading this book is like meeting a wise older sister drunk in the bathroom of a bar. It really made me reflect on how important my female friendships are and made me feel less bad about how i’ve felt in moments of heartbreak. 

Sarah J Maas discovers the word “rutting” 

that was a lot to process, all i am grateful for is that i did not read this in the year of our lord 2020 

someone needs to tell these guys that being bisexual is a thing because half of this book is just like “i CANT be gay because i ALSO like GIRLS” well surprise bitch 

this book is perfect. Justin is the definition of if he wanted to he would and he does. The bookstagram girlies were right, it’s so much more than just a light and fluffy rom com. I ride for Abby Jimenez now. 

this felt very much like we are setting up for what’s to come, like a lot happened but also not a lot happened. i’m still into it tho 

this woman is unhinged! and crazyyyyy!!! and she’s me!!!! and i am her!!!! and together we’re fucking a hot merman!!!! 

seriously though it’s brilliant, Melissa Broder voices my deepest darkest craziest most unhinged thoughts that i think every day. Lucy is such a fucked up sick a twisted character and also just a woman
