What I loved:
✔️To finally know the backstory of some of those iconic or famous moments was fantastic! I have memories of watching pop culture news shows or searching Perez Hilton’s blog for all the updates!
✔️Britney can finally talk!!! That alone makes this an instant five star read. She deserves the world.
✔️The quickest read on the planet. Reminded me of reading a magazine/blog article.

What I didn’t like:
✖️If I had to choose something to “complain” about I guess I’d say it was very simply written but I didn’t expect much more for this book. To compare it to Spare by Prince Harry, that one was much more wordy and flowery.

What I loved:
✔️I felt more True Blood vibes over Twilight vibes that people have been describing
✔️THE SETTING! In love.
✔️The plot twist and unraveling of it was fantastic
✔️Your girl loves a plot with a history lesson thrown in. Those scenes where the main character is researching info in the library were my fave

What I didn’t like:
✖️Okay yeah…was the twist and THE ENDING completely unrealistic?? Yep! But I give this book a break for the greatness of all the other factors

What I liked:
✔️the guides included in the back of the book were super nice to utilize for all pregnancy and baby needs
✔️the author’s mentality and outlook on raising a child was one I could relate to and enjoy listening to
✔️sets you up for those first few months where things get a little crazy

What I liked:
✔️The historical background of many of the long term problems surrounding the Black community in America throughout time. I definitely want to look into further nonfiction reading that the author recommended at the end of the book
✔️The Get Out vibes that many people describe about this book. The overall feeling of suspense and eeriness made this a really good read
✔️The characters had all very distinct personalities that I enjoyed reading. Even if some were terrible people

What I didn’t like:
✖️I thankfully had some prior knowledge of some of the historical aspects mentioned in the book such as the Tuskegee experiment. But had I not, I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to appreciate the reason the author brought up the facts. A little bit of background info on these historical events without needing to google would have been helpful
✖️The ending was a bit rushed and left it feeling slightly unfinished

What I liked:
✔️That ending made this better in the long run. Made me not regret finishing it. A mind warp!
✔️Second half of book was my jam. Bring on the gore and mind bending realizations!

What I didn’t like:
✖️First part/half was a snooze fest and I didn’t know what this book was really about or headed. I don’t DNF unless I absolutely can help it
✖️Characters were all not likable in my opinion

What I liked:
✔️Characters were fun to read, even if most not likable
✔️Plot was pretty good overall. The journey to the twist I mean

What I didn’t like:
✖️I hyped this book up because so many people love it. I was sadly disappointed and didn’t see the hype
✖️The plot twist was meh. Pretty cool about the building part (trying to be spoiler free). Would have loved more background on that part of the plot and twist.
✖️I am not a fan of camp settings in books. Boring!

✔️Research based is my fave!! Seems reliable when making decisions
✔️The author is honest and full of amazing resources

What I liked:
✔️I liked the dimensions of all the character POVs. I don’t think there was any one character I didn’t enjoy reading. Usually with multiple POVs I always prefer one narrator over another
✔️The short chapters at the end were nice! Last 20% of the book flew by!
✔️Foley is always great at using a location/building as an additional character
✔️I love dark books and the sexual themes within the book kept me interested (ie. References to potential SA or affairs lol. Maybe that makes me weird)

What I didn’t like:
✖️Was the ending twist like amazing? No. But still an enjoyable quick read
✖️The connections at the end were a bit unrealistic

What I liked:
✔️the amount of deaths in the book🤪😂 Kept things interesting and some were quite shocking!
✔️The setting of the school
✔️the romance factor and love triangle (my fave trope)

What I didn’t like:
✖️why did the author use modern day months to track time?! (ie. July, August) I would have much preferred seasons so that it didn’t take me out of this fantasy world the author created.
✖️not a huge fan of the dragons lol. I’m the 1%. That was also my least fave part of my favorite tv series ever Game of Thrones. I’m more a Cersei girl than Daenerys 😂
✖️the final action scene bored me. Sorry!

What I loved:
✔️EVERYTHING! I have not been so enthralled and encompassed by a thriller like this in so long
✔️creepy neighbor who won’t leave you alone and doesn’t get the hint. Like, that was a very enjoyable plot point because no one likes those types of people lol
✔️Although the plot was very convoluted and far fetched, I still enjoyed it thoroughly

What I didn’t love:
✖️I don’t know. Maybe I liked everything?? I am writing this review months later and I can’t remember if anything stood out to me as bad
