A Magic Steeped in Poison by Judy I. Lin

Did not finish book. Stopped at 62%.

I just couldn’t get into this. It’s a shame, because the magic system feels so unique and interesting, but there are very little explanations given as to how it works, so I mostly felt confused when Ning would do something magical with tea. The characters themselves felt super bland, so I found myself not caring what happened to them. Everything just felt … oddly detached.
