Batter up was a great, fun, fast read for me. (When I did sit down to read, oops) I read it in three sittings. The sexy scenes were *chef's kiss*
I think this was a great debut novel; as a fellow indie, I understand the process of writing and editing and how hard it can be to come out of a story to edit, it is a skill that is honed in time and I think it will get better for sure. I think the author has a really good grasp of the characters, and over the following few books, we will get more depth and build relationships with the side characters and get their points of view. I am a big lover of POV switches and getting into the heads of all the characters. I loved that I was able to pick up on certain plot points before they came, but not in a way that ruined it for me. I fell in love with the characters quickly and spent most of the last 8o pages covering my mouth in a panic for them.
I won my copy of the book in a giveaway held on Instagram but fully intend on getting the next books in the series on my own :)
