Amazingly easy to understand and written to be accessible to anyone regardless of their scientific or psychological knowledge. It manages to be informative dense while maintaining a narrative feel and kept me much more engaged than I expected!

Jessie Burton is criminally underrated as an author. I loved The Minituiarist and I loved this too!

I think anyone who wants to read this should definitely check the trigger warnings for this book because it shocked me with how intense it is in comparison to Bardugo’s other stuff (understandably as this is an adult novel and not YA). However, it’s a very well written book that pulled me out of a reading slump and kept me on the edge of my seat. If you like mystery and the macabre, this is just the thing for you!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 8%.
Just wasn’t in the mood for nonfiction.
