Writing was really really good but it got a bit repetitive by the end

I think my expectations for the Nightingale were a bit too high. I liked it, I thought some parts were really moving, I loooved that it was about the female experience in the war, something that is constantly overlooked and forgotten. I was always eager to go back to the story. I do think it was too romanticized and I would have liked it more if it was more literary fiction. I needed more description to really see the scenes playing out, I think that would have made me care wayy more for the characters. But damn, that ending was really good!
