Jacky Faber is a terrific character. She really comes to life in the audio book .

I loved the contrast between the grey bear and the bright picture he is making. I could not wait to see his finished product. This is a reillustrated version of a title from the 1970s. I wonder what those illustrations were like.
Shakespeare: The World as Stage by Bill Bryson

I thought Bryson brought his talent as a travel writer to a biography. It felt like he had traveled to London and Stratford of 1600 - Bryson brought the era to life from glorious theater to horrifying smells! I would not have been interested in a long, scholarly biography of Shakespeare, but I loved this quick enjoyable view of Shakespeare and all the unknowns of his life and work.

I held off reading this for awhile until my daughter insisted. Of course I read all 4 in the series in the next week. Given Rachel and I lots to talk about.

I like this but wish it was a stand alone title not the beginning of a trilogy. Rap it up and let me move on to something else!
