*Holy my mother in the insane asylum! Holy the cocks of the grandfathers in Kansas!

Somehow I've managed to get a joyous fun out of Ginsberg's intricately bizzare prose of poetry but sublime on another level and then realized he's damn good actually. This dude had a glorious time being a beatnik around his time. I like poems like these.

The most unusual thing could happen to a person at any given time regardless of his/her morale, political or religious beliefs. Affliction is inevitable for individuals who are part of minority. Although I don't find Yakov Bok a likeable character, I sympathize with him but given the fact that this was based on a true story is demoralizing already. The world truly is corrupt and unjust and makes me lose hope for the solidarity of humanity. Peace is a myth.

I was on a reading slump and randomly I decided to get back into reading after a depressive state. And man, I gotta say this was such a bad pick. This book was horrible. There's no story, no engagement, no thrill and the characters were poorly written. Just the lead character who's mentally-ill reencountering her traumatizing  memories.
wtf did I just read

For a minute I thought this book/diary was written by a real person. I'm glad it's just fiction because the epilogue was just sad.

This book was beautiful but painful to read even from the start. Just wow. Read it in about three hours in one sitting. And it's my first Steinback ever. I adored his way of descriptive writing as well. Might read more of his works not sooner or later

Loved the adventure through the concept of space and time. But I wasn't fully embedded to what this book is trying to convey. I mean I loved the story but maybe I just didn't love the style of writing.
