The End of Policing by Alex S. Vitale

4.0

Incredible in its straightforwardness. Vitale systematically lays out the severe issues with policing, and then responds to typical liberal calls for reform. It was these bits that I enjoyed the most; the solutions often touted for the problem of policing consistently overlook the web of interrelations that cause events in the first place. It is never as simple as individual bad agents. That goes both for the image of "criminals" in our society and "bad-apple" officers.

Fantastic read - a book I long to have on my shelf to easily pull to pull up notes, cases, evidence, etc. A wonderfully accessible, readable, and necessary work that everyone should read. 5 stars.
