I did enjoy this one although I had times of checking my reality at the door.
I loved Matty and his strength he showed throughout the book. The relationship between him and Tate was beautiful, and it really showcased how well Tate took care of him. That's why I really struggled with the fact that Tate left him to help Hawke. No parent I know would leave their child while they were sick, and to leave them in the care of two men they had just met. It just didn't site right with me and I made a conscious choice to ignore it.
I did like the way that Revay was not forgotten or made out to be less important. Michael loved them both equally. It was hard at the start where he kept telling Tate he didn't want him when he clearly did. He put up a good fight but ultimately feel under the spell of Tate and Matty.
