Trauma and Recovery: The Aftermath of Violence - From Domestic Abuse to Political Terror by Judith Lewis Herman
informative
slow-paced
3.5
First half is very informative for those who do not much about the evolution of mental healthcare. From there, it does get a little boring. The recovery part of the book seemed repetitive to me. If you’re new to the mental health scene, then this book may be helpful.
Graphic: Mental illness
Moderate: Child abuse, Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, and Rape
Minor: Alcohol and War
