This was so heartbreakingly beautiful. I love historical fiction, and while this was more on the fictional side, the wrods felt, albeit, so real, and raw and full of emotion, as if I could reach through the page and touch these characters seperated decades apart. It represented love, grief, heartbreak and the complex experience it is to be human so well.

She stretches out a hand, as if to acknowledge them, as if to feel the air between the three of them, as if wishing to pierce the boundary between audience and players, between real life and play.

And as the last book I'll ever borrow from the school library, I'm glad it was this one.
