I love this little book for what it will introduce to kids as well as giving Korean kids a character to look upon - to be seen.

What I don't understand is why Mindy Kim is so uneven - tho kids won't catch it. I guess this is a book that won't address the big issues in Mindy Kim's life (her mother's recent death) but why make statements/attention about it (Mindy sees her father crying alot) but then no discussions on the huge elephant in the book?

On the other hand, I like that Mindy Kim addresses her low-key bullying by starting a seaweed snack business - at 9yrs old! LOL

She's an entrepreneur but still immature...
