I enjoyed this more than the previous book, but for some reason this series isn’t as good as the Harrisburg or Owatonna ones. The characters just aren’t as engaging to me.
I did like Alex and enjoyed watching him take the steps to be who he wanted to be. His families differing reactions felt realistic and I was disappointed in his parents.
I liked that Seb was a self made man and he took his time with Alex, slowed him down when he wanted to go gung ho. His mother and aunt were lovely.
I do like that the series is realistic in that the guys both have lives at opposite ends of the world and they need to work out a way to combine them.
