The Man Who Planted Trees by Jean Giono
reflective
4.0
When I reflect on the fact that one man, with only his own simple physical and moral resources, was able to bring frouth out of the desert this land of Canaan, I can't help feeling the human condition in general is admirable, in spite of everything.
Interesting to think of the contrast of mass destruction and loss in war and the growth of nature-aided by humans. How one singular person can bring a sense of safety and reassurance in who we are as people throughout the times when we fear our capacity for destruction.
