This book is pretty much like the previous books where the adults are silly and the children were able to see through Count Olaf's disguise from the start. This is the formula for all the books so it isn't much of a spoiler.

However, the I like that the story discusses the types and effects of fears on a person and how it is important to learn to conquer your fears to change your life for the better.
