This is an excellent book that will give the reader more information about slavery in America.  Smith goes to different places in the US that all were a big part of slavery and Black lives in America.  He gives you lots of information that is very informative and shocking.  Many of the things he brought up were new to me, and I try to keep informed on these things.  I listened to the audiobook, which Smith narrates, and it was excellent.  I thought that it would be good for my boys to listen to, so that they get a better understand of slavery in America.  Highly recommend for learning about America's history.
