Windfall: Unlocking a fossil free future by Ketan Joshi

hopeful informative medium-paced
This was a very interesting reflection on the politics of renewable energy (and climate action/inaction more generally) particularly in Australia. Joshi blends this reflection of his own experience with expert evidence and science as well as some political analysis of how we came to be in this situation and quite a hopeful vision of how we can proceed.  It is a little depressing that four years later this seems still unlikely to occur but I really appreciate his point that every action is a step closer and despair is as unhelpful as denial.
There is quite a bit of technical details, especially when it comes to how we source our power, which I think he did a pretty good job of explaining without dumbing down too much. It did feel like a good 5% or so I just couldn't get, but it didn't really impact the point he was making. I also did have an advatage because I know someone who talks about this alot, so I did have a familiarity with many of the concepts.
Overall a very interesting read.
