This was an intriguing, unique and quick read. I was so fascinated by this premise, I started reading it the same day I received it. (!!) And I quickly became invested in the life and jobs of The “Stranger.” (we never learn his real name.)

He’s extremely focused on satisfying his clients and maintaining his status by racking up five-star ratings. He can effortlessly fake connections while working but doesn’t seek or allow them in his real life. Even the reader can’t get close to him.
While I didn't exactly like him- and don’t think we’re supposed to- I did empathize with him. Because of course there’s a reason to discover that explains his aversion to interpersonal relationships. And I appreciated his witty and satirical observations of an array of settings in NYC.

Thanks to Simon & Schuster for the gifted copy.
