W. E. B. Du Bois's Data Portraits: Visualizing Black America by Whitney Battle-Baptiste, Britt Rusert, Aldon D. Morris, Silas Munro, Mabel O. Wilson

4.0

Excellent collection of Du Bois' work. Interesting for two reasons. One, the subject matter, it's a very early treatment of Black American demographics. And doubly so for the presentation; Du Bois and his team invented a bunch of dramatic and colorful visualizations that are really lovely. I didnt' read the text much (mostly just looked at the images) but it looks to be a pretty good critical reading of those visualizations and what they signify.
