Angel Dares by Joss Stirling
3.0
Okay, this book was good. The series over all is sensational but I think it kind of getting worse. I liked Angel Dares, it was good, well written, interesting plot but... I was feeling maybe it was slightly rushed? I just feel like Joss's Savant books have lost the spark they had with Finding Sky, Stealing Phoenix and Seeking Crystal. It was gripping: I read it in under 24 hours. It was a bit clichèd, with the whole hot-guy-in-a-band music festival scene, and the ending was corny. Maybe Finding Sky was too to an extent, but there were other things that make it the great, sacred book of goodness that it is.
Also, the Benedicts are just background characters now, which is annoying. Zed got mentioned like twice, and I don't think Sky got a shout out at all. SKY AND ZED MADE THIS SERIES WHAT IT IS!! They deserve to feature more than that!!!
I can't quite put my finger on why this book wasn't as good, but I felt there was just a bit less meat to it than the other books.
I'll always love this series, and I'll be sticking with it to the end, but this book, though still good, was something of a letdown compared to the rest of the series.
