How to Be Right: ... in a World Gone Wrong by James O'Brien

challenging emotional funny hopeful informative reflective medium-paced

5.0

Such a fan of his work on LBC, where I got to know him as the straight talking, no bullshit phone-in radio presenter, that as soon as I heard about his book finally releasing here in Canada, I just HAD to get my hands on a copy. It did not disappoint for a minute. It was witty, sarcastic, and ultimately a very satisfying read for a fan such as myself. Every chapter is a different controversial topic (I.e. James’ often discussed Brexit) and features discussions that he has had through this phone-in radio hour on LBC, and all of them were either hilariously stupid or just plain sad (sad on the part of the the caller not the callee I should say). James goes into detail about the reasons why these callers seem justified in their views, which they have undoubtedly been lead astray by far-right crackheads in certain power positions from both sides of the Atlantic. He then systematically goes into why they have unfortunately come to the wrong conclusion about a host of issues. I am so looking forward to what he decides to write next !
