‘To the ones who don’t run with the popular crowd, the ones who get caught reading under their desks, the ones who feel like they never get invited, included, or represented. Get your leathers. We have dragons to ride’ - Rebecca Yarros 🐉

Spoiler Warning
I’m still a sucker for a dragon & a dragon rider in leathers 🤷🏻♀️ who’d have guessed? I was a big fan of the dragon/riding time in Onyx Storm. The Isles added tons of world building & plenty of time for me to be confused. 😂
Tairn was so sweet - if he ever gets hurts, I don’t think I’ll survive. He really is true love. Andarna broke my heart but it felt right…she deserves to come back confident in herself & kick ass! 🥚
Again, the (kinda side) characters carried the book. Ridoc was on top form, he made me laugh & he made me want to cry. Dain…I’m sorry folks, he’s won me over. Sawyer needed more time, as did Imogen, Bodhi, Garrick & Rhi. The first half needed WAY more of them & their squad banter 🙈
I enjoyed Violets confidence growth, but my gosh she was frustratingly stupid at times. Xaden felt like he got some of his grit back (but he’s still not at Fourth Wing level). I’m hopeful we’ll get more ruthless shadow man in the last books. 🖤
This book was very much layering for us to unravel the plot in book 4/5. I spent the first half thinking I was lost & I had no idea who certain characters were. It did feel a bit heavy & slow despite some clues already proving important by the end. 🤔
That ending…I have questions, I have predictions. But I’m already DESPERATE for a Xaden entry scene 👀
