I can’t wait to read more by Amber Dawn. The author’s note and foreword immediately set the scene and I really appreciated the author’s attention to content warnings and reader’s comfort levels. As the author describes, these poems came out of conversations with others in the book community about experiences of sexual abuse, as well as her own experiences with discrimination and abuse against sex workers. Very heavy content but a lot to think about.
