Got 28% in and just couldn't connect. Part of it is that I'm so, so tired of: men failing up into achievement, the rich kid who feels rejected and becomes a reactionary twit, and impulsive, obnoxious people getting a pass for their behavior because they're just misunderstood geniuses. I think the "big secret thing" in the royal kid's past should have been revealed much sooner (didn't get to it by a third of the book in at least) in order to have a chance at connecting with such an off-putting character.
