The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

4.0

Excellent novel! Really liked its exploration of the subjugation of women in American society, the reduction to sex and breeding. But that's just the simple overnarrative. Beneath that is a more subtle level of commentary on women's society, or a distortion of it, and sorority and individuality and competition between women. A well spun story in the sci-fi vein of "what if our world but one twist".

Also I am not kidding: Goodreads shows me ads for a hospital's maternity ward for this book. *Almost* exactly on target there guys.
